Shelly Says: The Best Roads Are the Ones You Make
Share

I’m Shelly. I surf before breakfast, off-road on weekends and run a doggie daycare and grooming business in between. I have a minor in Animal Behavior and a major in figuring stuff out as I go. I’m also Archie’s cousin. We are alike in all the ways except for the ones where we’re different. We’re both stubborn, observant, and full of stories, but let’s just say I pack fewer canned goods and more sarcasm.
I believe “The best roads are the ones you make” isn’t just a bumper sticker phrase—it’s a way of life. And I’m not alone in that belief, here’s an article exploring the benefits of making your own path.
You may be thinking, “what does that phrase mean exactly?” Well, it means trusting your gut even when your GPS is blank. It means saying yes to strange invitations, trying the thing you’re under-qualified for, and occasionally building your own map out of trail mix wrappers and vibes.
This blog, “Shelly Says,” is a place for strong opinions, strange tales, and questionable metaphors. Some of it’ll be funny, some of it won’t try to be. I might rant about things people never question—like why yoga mats don’t come with cup holders—or I might tell you about the time a parrot steered a dune buggy into a dumpster. (True story. Check the podcast for details.)
You won’t always agree with me. You’re not supposed to. This isn’t a how-to—it’s a “here’s what happened, take what you want” kind of deal.
Let’s start with this week’s shirt: “The best roads are the ones you make.” It’s cute, comfy, and pairs great with tire tracks.
Until next time… Shelly.
